Kiwanis All-Comers Track Meet | Ages: 4-18

Ages: 4-18 This exciting track meet, sponsored by the Brighton Kiwanis and the City of Brighton, is open to everyone in the community. No track team affiliation is required to participate. Ribbons will be awarded to first through sixth place finishers in each event and category. This meet will determine the qualifiers for the Colorado AAU and Field Meet.

Babysitters Course

This course is designed for 11-14 year old's to give the knowledge necessary for the first time babysitting. Pediatric CPR/First Aid including: two year certification, personal safety, growth and development, discipline, illness and injury prevention, basic childcare such as diapering, feeding and bathing. Bird Classes for Everyone

Did you know that Brighton is a birding hotspot? Join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies to get to know the winged wonders that share our home. We will explore a different area of Brighton each month, covering many habitats with a chance to discover new birds each time. This program is intended for anyone interested in birding; from beginners to experts. Binoculars and field guides will be available to borrow. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to be outside for two hours.

Youth Weight Room Orientation

An introductory class, taught by a certified personal trainer that encourages positive body image and emphasizes a safe weight training environment. Junior passes will be given to those who successfully complete this course and may be used with adult supervision in the weight room. Class will cover: • Weight room safety • Safe lifting techniques • Etiquette and weight room rules • Proper use of machines and cardio equipment

5280 Theater Class: Theater Fundamentals ACT Class

Ages: 6-13 Theater Fundamentals ACT Class Learn the basic fundamentals of acting in this one week master class workshop where you will not only be able to practice your acting abilities but share a performance showcase at the end of the week.

Learn how to pinch, coil, slab build and glaze. This beginner class is the best place to start your love affair with dirt! Guided by a local professional pottery artist, you wll learn techniques for hand-building or wheel throwing clay. Each technique is paired with a project every class, which means you are creating pieces on day one.

Fall Peewee Soccer Registration Deadline

Ages: 4-5 An introduction to the game of soccer for your little one. Peewee is three-on-three soccer with no goalie. Practices are on Saturdays 30 minutes before the game. Parent volunteers are needed as coaches and will be required to officiate games.

Fall Youth Soccer Registration Deadline

This program is a low-key recreational program with emphasis on fun, education, and safety. No game scores or league standings are kept. We require parents to volunteer as coaches. Coaches will select the team’s practice schedule. Games are played on Saturdays at either Brighton or Benedict Park.

5280 Theater Class: High School Musical Jr.

Ages: 6-13 High School Musical Jr. It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well. Join 5280 Theater Company on this musical journey for all ages.

Kids 'N Canvas

Your kids love to paint and create, but the thought of getting out the craft supplies and cleaning up after makes you twitch... Kids ‘n Canvas to the rescue! In just two hours, a Gallery Guide will instruct a fun and fabulous piece of art while painters follow along creating their own MYsterpiece! It’s guaranteed to bring out creativity, fun and laughter. But don’t worry, no art-smarts are needed. Painters will follow simple step-by-step instructions. It’s not a painting class.....it’s a painting pARTy! Artwork is pre-selected, but creativity is encouraged! Class includes all supplies, snacks and fun!

Adult COED Kickball Registration Deadline

Spend Sunday afternoons with friends and family on the kickball field! Play 8 vs. 8 Players will be responsible for participating in running their games. Championship T-shirts will be awarded for first place.

Conceal And Carry Permit Class

This class reviews handgun safety and concealed carry law. Completion of this class will give students a completion certificate necessary when applying for a concealed carry permit. This is not a NRA approved course

CPR/ Adult First Aid/AED

This class will teach the skill and instruction needed to perform in case of an emergency such as: rescue breathing, choking, adult, child and infant CPR, control bleeding, care of a fracture and other injuries that may occur. These classes fulfill all requirements for those certified as foster parents, group homes, child cares, day cares, and elder care facilities.
