Medical Center Drive to be closed for construction

Medical Center Drive will be closed a couple of weeks for mill and overlay work. The City of Brighton and Asphalt Specialties Co. will be working on approximately three-quarters of a mile of the corridor from 1800 Medical Center (the road to Comfort Inn & Suites) to just south of Lowes. A detour will be in place for a portion of the project, which will take approximately two weeks.

The project will include subgrade preparation, asphalt removal, patching, milling, asphalt overlay and re-striping and new pavement markings. Travel impacts will include one-lane closures with possible delays, a full closure of Medical Center Dr. (a detour will be in place for the traveling public and emergency vehicles using Bromley Lane and Prairie Center Parkway to access the hospital and other businesses in the area), and shoulder closures.

Construction will take place Mondays - Fridays from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. through January 2021. In special cases, hours may be extended. All schedules are subject to change based on weather.

If you have questions, please reach out to or 970-903-4004.
