[ARCHIVED] Hops and Hounds offers event for dog owners and their furry best friends

Dog owners are encouraged to bring their furry best friends to enjoy food, fun, and festivities during Hops and Hounds on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Brighton Sports Complex (1111 Judicial Center Drive). Although alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase for those 21 years of age and older, family members and friends under the age of 21 are welcomed to join the fun. Hops and Hounds festivities will also include food and live entertainment from DJ Squirt and the Margarita Brothers band.

Admission is $10 per adult (18 and over) and $5 per youth (17 and under) if you purchase tickets prior to the event, or $15 per adult and $10 per youth if tickets are purchased at the door.

With limited seating available, attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. An off-leash area will be provided, giving furry attendees the chance to play and socialize freely. Owners should be mindful of their dogs' behavior to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Hops and Hounds Rules:

  • No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the off-leash area.

  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times unless in the off-leash area.

  • All dogs must always be supervised by their owner.

  • All canine vaccinations must be up to date.

  • Any aggressive or disruptive dogs and their owners may be asked to leave.

  • All dogs must be spayed or neutered.

  • Limit of two dogs per person.

  • Waste stations are provided at the event and owners are expected to clean up after their pets.

  • No foster pets are permitted without written consent of the foster organization.

A portion of the alcohol proceeds will be donated to the Richard Lambert Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to family grief and health support.
