Park Shelters
Residents pay $65. Nonresidents pay $75. The park shelter adjacent to the Splash Pad at Benedict Park is $85 for residents and nonresidents pay $105 (Please note this does not include the rental of the splash pad water feature). The fee covers the entire day. Park shelter start times vary; some are cleaned by 10am, including: Brighton Park, Benedict Park & Carmichael Park. All other reservable shelters are cleaned by noon. All parks close at 10pm.

At least 10 days in advance, take into consideration busy summer weekends, most popular shelters fill up fast. We accept Park Shelter reservations after January 1st of the year, with reservations offered from mid-May through mid-September of that season.

Yes – City ordinance requires that if you are having a gathering in a city park for more than 25 guests, you must get a group permit. This can be done by calling the Brighton Recreation Center Rentals Desk at 303-655-2200 and supplying basic information, at least 10 days in advance. There is a city ordinance that requires that you must obtain a liability insurance policy for the day of the event, listing the city of Brighton as an insured on a policy with a $1 million of coverage of liability. You must have your own generator to run it. The rentals desk must have your proof of insurance and be able to issue you the permit at least 10 days in advance. Park Shelters
If you are planning to have amplified music, a request must be submitted at least 10 days in advance for a music permit. The only park location allows this is at Brighton Park Shelters #2, #3, and #4. All three shelters must be reserved for the event.

Not all shelters have electricity, but those that do, only have enough electricity to keep a crock pot warm. If you are needing more electricity than that, you will need to bring your own quiet generator or plan according. If too much drain is put on the electrical system, the breaker will trip and you will have no electricity.Park Shelters

All reservable shelters will have a basic bathroom or portable potty that is maintained during the reservable season. Some bathrooms are very basic, therefore for events such as weddings we suggest customers take a look at the park before reserving.Park Shelters

Park Shelters
Reservations for the season can be called in as early as January of the year. We can accept reservations on the first business day after New Years day. We do not take reservations for future years, however we can answer questions you may have for a future event you are planning.

If you need to cancel your reservation, we need to get your request at least 10 days before your reservation date. No refunds with less than 10 days notice. No refunds for inclement weather. There is a $5 cancellation fee per park shelter if the rental fee is refunded back to you. There is no $5 fee if you accept it as a household credit with the Recreation Center. (Household credits can be used for all transactions except drop in visits.)
