About the Contest

Each year, elementary school students in Brighton are invited to submit their best and most creative name ideas for the city’s snowplows. Winners will have an opportunity to take a photo with the snowplow they named and be recognized at a City Council. 

Additionally, the contest winners will have an opportunity to ride in the city’s annual Festival of Lights parade.

City announces winners of the 5th Annual Name That Snowplow contest

After a flurry of entries, the City of Brighton is pleased to announce the six winners of the fifth annual Name That Snowplow contest. The winning submissions will each name a snowplow for the 2025-2026 snow season. 

 The winning names and students:  

  • Nikola Snokić — Bryan Jones, Third Grader at South Elementary 
  • Man n’ Freeze — Ezra Robles, First Grader at Discovery Magnet 
  • Big Chungus — Jaeden Sanchez, Fifth Grader at Pennock Elementary 
  • Below Zero Hero — Nolan Williams, Kindergartener at homeschool 
  • Taylor Drift — Clara Bajadali, Third Grader at Foundations Academy 
  • Brr-ighton Sleigher — Lexi Mojardin, First Grader at Brantner Elementary 

The winners were recognized by City Council at the Dec. 2 City Council meeting and were featured on a float at the 30th Annual Festival of Lights Parade on Dec. 13.
