Tuition Reimbursement

The City of Brighton regards the training of its employees as a vital and contributing factor in the successful accomplishment of its objectives. 

Regular full-time and part-time employees in good standing may be eligible for financial assistance with approved, job-related education programs after six months of employment.

Educational assistance will be awarded for job related courses of instruction taken through accredited colleges or universities, trade schools or technical institutions.

The amount of payment by the City shall be up to $1,250 per year per employee.  Upon authorization of the department director and approval by the City Manager, 50% of the cost of tuition, registration and books may be advanced to the employee.  On satisfactory completion of the course, the balance of the eligible amount will be reimbursed to the employee.
