Growing Grads: Summer Job Launch
The Summer Job Launch serves as a boot camp for all things career. At this all-day workshop, we will discuss interviewing, resumes, applying for jobs, and more! Attendance at the Summer Job Launch is mandatory for all young people interested in applying for a City of Brighton Youth Internship. Interested in volunteering and conducting mock interviews for youth in our community? Please contact us!
Growing Grads: Paid Internships
The City of Brighton offers paid summer internships for youth ages 14-21. Youth Interns work in various city departments alongside an internship supervisor, referred to as a “worksite supervisor”. Internship and professional development growth are measured through nine general competencies such as time management, problem-solving, interpersonal communication, organization, technology usage, and more. Interns and their supervisors also create advanced competencies which are career-specific skills. On top of participation at their worksite, interns attend weekly professional development classes hosted by the Office of Youth Services. Topics of professional development range from personal finance, social media in the workplace, healthy relationships, and more. For more information on how to apply for an internship, please contact Sydney McKinney. Watch our internship video below. Attendance at the Growing Grads: Summer Job Launch is Mandatory in order to apply for a paid summer internship.
