Brighton Online Portal: OpenGov
The portal allows inspections to be scheduled easily. Contractors must schedule inspections via the portal. This may be done until 11:00 PM for the next business day except for single family unit inspections. Single family unit inspections must be in by 3:30 PM for the next business day.
Homeowners are permitted to schedule via the inspection line by calling 303-655-2151. Requests must be made by 4:00 PM for next business day inspection.

Inspection Policy
As a courtesy, we try to accommodate morning or afternoon inspection time requests; however, please be prepared for your inspection anytime during normal business hours.
Inspectors cannot enter an occupied home without a person 18 years or older present. In some cases, the inspector may require authorization to enter a yard.
The permit holder must schedule each inspection and receive written approval from the building inspector before proceeding with the next step of construction. Plans and cards must be printed and onsite. Work required to be inspected must be accessible and exposed.
Inspections of any code governed assembly must occur prior to concealment. The responsible party in charge is responsible for knowing what inspections must occur. Please call 303-655-2017 if there are any questions regarding required inspections.
Inspection Time
- Building Division inspections are generally next day
- Homeowners may schedule inspections on the inspection line
- Contractors must use the portal for all new permits
- Planning Division inspections require a 3-day lead time
For an arrival window for your inspection, call between 8:00 and 8:30 AM the day of your inspection.
Holidays
Inspections requested prior to 4:00 PM the business day before a holiday will be scheduled the 2nd business day following the holiday.

Canceling an Inspection
To cancel an inspection, call 303-655-2017 prior to the scheduled date/time of inspection.
