City of Brighton residents are invited to participate in the “Move with the Mayor” walk during Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 20, at Brighton Park (555 N. 11th Avenue). Kids to Parks Day activities will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., while attendees will be able to walk around the park with Mayor Gregory Mills at 11 a.m. The event is free to the public and will feature food, activities, and music.
Move with the Mayor is a national initiative that works with mayors across the country. Mayors encourage their communities to be physically active to lower their chances of heart disease and its risk factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play. The day connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors.
